Services

Spays & Neuters

We believe in neutering or spaying your pet to reduce the canine and feline population and to reduce his or her risk of related illness due to territorial fighting, wandering to find a mate, and other serious complications related to intact males and females.  The recommended time to spay or neuter your pet is between the ages of 4-6 months to avoid possible breeding or heat cycles.  This however does not mean your pet can not be spayed or neutered after the recommended time.  At the time of the spay or neuter we can offer the following services:  blood work, ID Chip implantation, dewclaw removal, feline de-claw, nail trim, anal expression, dental work, hernia repair, or other needed operations at that time.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are a way to help protect your pet from some awful diseases.  Vaccines were developed to help these diseases from spreading to other animals and thus being a very serious problem if  they did spread.

Annual Exams

We encourage annual exams as a means of providing attentive care for your pet.  Annual exams provide us with the information we need to help you customize the best health care plan for your pet during each stage of its life.  Some of the things that will impact your pet's needs are determined by diet, environmental impact, weight, and breed of your pet just to name a few.

Geriatric Exams

To keep your geriatric pet healthy and to catch any signs of problems early we have an exam every 3 to 6 months depending on the circumstances of each pet.  We also recommend a full blood panel to have a better idea of what is going on internally.

Dentals

Dentals are necessary on all pets just how soon do you need one? Pets that do not have good salivary enzymes will need one sooner than say the one that has good salivary enzymes.  Bad salivary enzymes may be due to poor quality breeding, old age, poor or incorrect diet, and incorrect care of the teeth.  Items such as rawhide chews, knuckle bones, and other various types of dental chews act as a toothbrush for your pet.  The items listed above (act as a toothbrush) in providing an abrasive surface where the friction that occurs breaks off the plaque and debris on the teeth.  The hard kibbled food is also better than the canned soft food for the hard kibble also provides an abrasive area for the teeth to rub against.  The soft food easily sticks to the teeth and without proper care like brushing the teeth or providing other chewing items will result in tarter and bacteria buildup. We do free dental estimates if your pet is in need of one. Give us a call for an appointment.

Behavioral Consultations

At our clinic your pet's behavior is really important to us. Your pet's behavior is the key to you and your pets happiness and ability to get along. Without the ability to understand what your pet needs and how you should communicate to your pet what you are wanting is very important. Our doctors will be able to guide you to what you are able to do to help your pet become your ideal companion. They also have various local trainers that are able to assist you in training your pet to become your ideal companion.

ID Chip Implantation

The HomeAgain ID chip is a good way for your pet to have  additional ID in case they lose their collar.  If the pet gets lost and someone is trying to find out where they live this chip will allow the finder to take the pet to the humane society and or any veterinary clinic to help get the information needed to locate the owner of the pet.

Weight Loss & Management Plan

Over half of U.S. dogs and cats are overweight. Pets that are overweight can have several different types of health issues. It is best that your pet stay at the proper weight to help maintain proper health which in turn will help your pocket book.

Grooming

Our experienced groomers are able to provide many different types of cuts for your dog. Treat your pet to a fun spa day to get all trimmed up and feeling better. Some breeds require that grooming be done every 6 weeks otherwise they may get matted or if it is a breed that needs its ears plucked, they can get ear infections.

Heartworm Prevention

Heartworm is in the Treasure Valley area and it is recommended that your pet be on a preventative. Heartworm is a parasite that is transmitted by mosquitoes. A mosquito bites an infected dog or cat then bites another dog or cat which that is when a pet becomes infected. Your pet will need to have a blood test done first to make sure your pet doesn't have heartworm and then they can be on a preventative. A pill given each month will help prevent heartworm and help your pet. MORE...

Flea & Tick

Fleas and ticks can be a big pest and trying to keep them under control or rid them of your home can sometimes be a problem. Topical applications work well and allow the whole pet to be protected for one month
