Vaccinations; Why We Give Them
Vaccinations are a way to help protect your pet from some awful diseases. Vaccines were developed to help these diseases from spreading to other animals and thus being a very serious problem if they did spread.
Through the years they have had very many protocols for vaccines and how long they work. Research continues on these vaccines to make them better.
At this point the vaccines given to:
Canines
Distemper, parainfluenza, parvovirus, and in some cases coronavirus
Bordatella
Rabies
Felines
FVRCP combination vaccine which includes
Feline Leukemia Virus
FIP
Rabies

Puppies
8 weeks DHPP-C #1
Bord
12 weeks DHPP-C #2
16 weeks Spay or Neutering done at this time depending
on the individual pet. (Both testicles have dropped
all adult teeth coming in normal etc.)
DHPP-C #3
Rabies 1year
Adult Dogs
1 year to 6 years DHPP-C Once a year
Bordatella Once a year
Rabies (if no record of previous Rabies, the
first time have ever gotten a rabies or under 1
year, certificate will only be good for 1 year.
If there is proof of Rabies being done with in
three years then will be good for 3 years.)
7 years and up DHPP Once a year unless
Bordatella otherwise advised by
doctor.
Geriatric pets
DHPP Every 3 years
Bordatella Once a year
Rabies Every 3 years
The Doctors determine your pet is Geriatric by the age and individual
physical condition of your pet. Not all pets are the same and some may
be older or younger than others depending on physical condition. Please
schedule an appointment with the doctor to determine whether your
pet is Geriatric.
Kittens
8 weeks FVRCP #1
12 weeks FVRCP #2
16 weeks Spay or Neuter done at this time depending on the

FeLV test done at this time.
FeLV #1 vaccination if test is negative
